The number of formal complaints of election law violations filed by city residents was more in this year’s election compared to those filed in previous years.

A formal complaint lodged last week with the city’s Fair Campaign Practices Commission claims that a flyer mailed out to voters in support of a Berkeley ballot measure contains false endorsements.
