Once the queen of Corona, Jayda Curry has quickly become the cornerstone of Cal women’s basketball in just one year in Berkeley.

Women’s work is cheapened even when women are equally willing to throw their bodies off of a set of stairs while on a skateboard for audience entertainment.

Athletes have taken off their uniforms and joined the world in the revolution for change in society, marching side by side with their fans.

The first transgender and nonbinary player in WNBA history, they have been not only a trailblazer but also a proponent for change.

Through player activism, planned events and community outreach, the WNBA has demonstrated its commitment and support of marginalized communities.

Even so, the women were paid less for their efforts. There are countless examples of female athletes earning less than they are due in sports.

On August 4th, players on the Atlanta Dream and Phoenix Mercury jogged onto the court wearing black t-shirts with a simple message written across the front: “VOTE WARNOCK”. The rest is history.

There were plenty of successes and drawbacks to the bubble format the NBA and WNBA used this past season. Here are some of them.
