Although Cal didn’t qualify as a team for the final round, it still finished with a solid overall score of 395.055, simultaneously setting multiple personal records and qualifying seven Bears to the final for the second straight year.

Last Saturday at Haas Pavilion, Cal men’s gymnastics welcomed No. 1 Oklahoma to its last home meet of the season to face off in a head-to-head battle of technique and endurance.

The Bears, coming off of a major high with their recent record-breaking win against Army and William & Mary, are fueled up for their last home meet of the season this Saturday.

The blue and gold pulled away from their opponents Army and William and Mary, combining for a total of 399.350, their highest overall score so far this season.

Despite losing to Stanford’s 410.5, Cal posted its second-highest season-opening result in the modern scoring era — a 394.95 — and rose to No. 6 in the nation.

The Bears run hot and cold when it comes to their success on each event, but Saturday’s MPSF championship might prove to offer just the right environment.

On Saturday, Oklahoma proved why it deserves to be the No. 2 college men’s gymnastics team in the nation. It just so happened that No. 10 Cal was on the other side of it.

After ending their last meet knowing they had more to give, the Bears look to wrap the season up nicely starting with their final meet at home in Haas Pavilion.

Cal men’s gymnastics ripped through its previous season-high score 393 with 401.150, which was accompanied by legions of season bests and personal records.
