Berkeley Playhouse’s production of “In the Heights” taps into a joy unique to community theater, making for a fitting homage to its heart-filled neighborhood subject. 

In the Custom Made Theatre on Sutter Street in San Francisco, the small space came to life Sunday night with the premiere of Custom Made Theatre Company’s production of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In the Heights.”
