UC administration

While budget cuts and deficits are temporary setbacks in the UC system, it is important to note that extinguishing the flame of education is equally catastrophic as it is permanent.

A keystone of any academic setting is the presence of dissent and discourse, which is amplified on campuses that seek to explore the intersectional nature of human experiences within any region. 

In order to achieve the best possible UC, there needs to be an understanding between stakeholders and administration, enabling them to work together and tackle the problems they face. 

While the administration claims closure due to budget deficits, recent financial decisions point toward a different reality — a reality where other priorities stand to block the doors of the anthropology library indefinitely.  

With the risk of relying too much on broad generalizations, I see that UC Berkeley students approach their academic seats at this school with an extra layer of complexity.

The ASUC Senate passed a resolution against caste-based discrimination and heard updates from officials at their regular meeting Wednesday.
