In March 2022, the ASUC revoked a grant offering funding to campus fraternities, yet a resolution recently introduced by ASUC Senator Josh Lee would reinstate funding for the Cal Interfraternity Council, effectively overturning the March bill. 

Three UC Berkeley fraternities have been officially unrecognized by the university due hazing-related activities prohibited by the Code of Student Conduct. 

The council, which represents affiliated campus sororities, had refused as of Jan. 29 to interact with any disaffiliated fraternities until they agreed to comply with a list of demands. Three fraternities, Delta Kappa Epsilon, Zeta Psi and Phi Gamma Delta agreed.
