Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Policy

The UC Board of Regents amended the investigation policy for reviewing allegations of UC regent misconduct May 21, following an investigation into sexual harassment allegations raised against UC Regent George Kieffer in November 2019, which have since been cleared.

A UC Davis student filed a petition Thursday in the Alameda County Superior Court to the UC Board of Regents after he was issued a two-year suspension from the UC system for allegedly violating the UC Davis Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Policy and the UC Policy on Student Conduct and Discipline.

In recent years, the campus has garnered attention for several high-profile sexual harassment cases — including alleged violations of UC sexual misconduct policy by former campus astronomy professor Geoffrey Marcy and former UC Berkeley School of Law dean Sujit Choudhry.

John Doe, an unidentified, suspended campus student, alleged he was improperly disciplined in a campus Title IX sexual misconduct investigation, according to a petition filed Tuesday in the Alameda County Superior Court Rene C. Davidson courthouse.

Blake Wentworth, a former assistant professor in the campus’s South and Southeast Asian Studies department, was dismissed today by Chancellor Dirks after Wentworth was found to have violated the University's Faculty Code of Conduct and Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Policy, according to a campus press release.
