Even with the formation of the supplemental and concentration grants with the intention of administering greater funding to schools with higher-need students, the LCFF misses the mark.

Every child must be counted; every dollar of state funding must be secured; and all remaining school districts must join the campaign against fear. If they’re successful, we could be at the cusp of a widespread paradigm shift in public benefit programs — and who feels safe accessing them.

If safety is a priority, any reopening timelines that purport to have all students back in school prior to achieving total vaccination are misleading. 

Allowing military recruiters access to public schools infringes upon what is supposed to be a safe environment for learning and self-discovery.
