After an eventful weekend down in Los Angeles, Cal volleyball added both a victory and a loss to its record. Despite winning earlier on in the season, the Bears fell to No. 24 USC but triumphed over UCLA — whom they had been swept by back on Oct. 13.

This weekend, the Bears will be migrating out of Bear Territory and into a familiar southern territory — Los Angeles. Cal will be facing long-time rivals USC and UCLA on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

The blue and gold currently hold a 3-7 conference record and a 14-7 overall record — a meaningful difference from the winless conference record that defined the Cal volleyball program last season.

From a well-fought three-set loss to a five-set nailbiter victory, the Bears, who are 14-7, found themselves with a mixed bag this last weekend in Oregon.

Cal volleyball fell into a deeper hole last weekend with two Pac-12 losses in Washington. A tall task to begin with, No. 4 Washington State and Washington handed the Bears with ease.

This Sunday, the Bears will have an opportunity to even their conference record in Salt Lake City against the Utah Utes.

After a successful three-game sweep at last weekend’s Army Tournament in West Point, New York, the Bears look to bring this momentum into upcoming matchups with Portland State and Southern Utah.

Cal volleyball will migrate south to sunny Southern California this weekend to face off against No. 13 UCLA and attempt to gobble up a dub.

Cal takes on WSU and Washington at Haas Pavilion, but ultimately loses to the teams in straight sweeps.

Cal volleyball played hard to turn its losing streak around, but no treats await the team as it loses to both Arizona and ASU.
