With the Bears losing the majority of the games they played at the Frisco Classic this past weekend, Neu believes the win will provide a momentum shift as his team is set to begin competition against Pac-12 opponents in the upcoming weeks.

Returning from a 1-2 performance at the Frisco Classic held in Frisco, Texas, the Cal men’s baseball team looks to bounce back into the win column as it takes on Villanova March 7 at its home Stu Gordon Stadium.

Cal men’s baseball is headed to Frisco, Texas, to take on Oklahoma, Ohio State and Mississippi State in the Frisco Classic.

Cal rode fantastic pitching and a couple clutch hits to another three wins across Friday and Saturday, before stormy weather on Sunday forced a rain-out after three innings of play.

The first inning grand slam against No. 2 Stanford, courtesy of hot-hitting Carson Crawford, was the highlight of a fantastic opening weekend for Cal. This was just one of numerous plays that went Cal’s way in a nearly perfect start to the 2023 season.

Cal men’s baseball will start out the season traveling to Houston to take on the Cougars, followed by a Bay Area rivalry matchup against the Cardinal.

Ultimately, the Bears’ 7-2 run in their last nine games demonstrated an impressive backbone and resolve that all Cal fans should be proud of.

Following its back-to-back series sweeps against New Mexico and Utah, Cal finishes its 2022 campaign with a 28-25 regular season record, earning it the No. 6 seed in the Pac-12 tournament.

If Cal can more regularly harness and reproduce its performances in its toughest games, it'll see a submarine rise toward the top of the standings.
