Visitor and Parent Services and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions recently launched a virtual tour through YouVisit for prospective students to experience the UC Berkeley campus from afar.

UC Berkeley Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Stephen Sutton called off pyrotechnics at the Big Game Rally, held annually on the evening before the football game against Stanford University. The bonfire, traditionally featured at the rally, was previously canceled because of an air quality notice.

Not everyone is full of school spirit, and that’s OK. Maybe when homecoming weekend rolls around, the last thing you want to do is get sucked into a “Roll on, you Bears!” chant.

There’s so much more than lecture and homework to focus on during the semester, so make sure you put in the effort to shake things up and stay positive!

“What’s one piece of advice you have for an incoming freshman?” she asked. “Don’t be afraid of rejection,” I surprised myself by saying. “You wouldn’t think it, but it’s hard to get into clubs here.”

Every nation, city and college is laden with its own traditions, and UC Berkeley is no different, full of superstitions and lore.
