The UC Board of Regents discussed the approval of the UC San Diego chancellor’s additional compensation as well as UC employee housing programs during a special board meeting on Thursday.

The UC Board of Regents kicked off its second day of meetings Wednesday on UCLA’s campus to discuss topics concerning academic affairs, governance, equity and public engagement.

The UC Board of Regents met Thursday to hear public comments and discuss herbicide usage, state auditor recommendations and the state of Title IX at the UC.

As part of an ongoing bargaining process with the UC system, one group from the Academic Researchers United/United Automobile Workers Local 5810 union rallied outside UCSF’s Genentech Hall while another group met with UC San Diego Chancellor Pradeep Khosla to discuss the objectives and challenges of academic researchers, or ARs. 

After UC employees reported hundreds of malfunctions with recently implemented payroll system UCPath, Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez, D-San Diego, and state Sen. Nancy Skinner, D-Berkeley, voiced their concerns in letters to UC chancellors, demanding that the issue be addressed.

SAN FRANCISCO — At its Thursday meeting, the UC Board of Regents discussed a nonresident student enrollment cap and the efficiency of the university’s operating model and unanimously approved Carol Christ as the new chancellor of UC Berkeley.

The Associated Students Council at UC San Diego passed a resolution Wednesday calling on the University of California to divest from companies doing business with the Israeli government.
