UC Berkeley has officially banned student organizations from gathering in person both on and off campus, including for fraternity parties, in its most recent state-aligned decision.

Hoping to promote student health and happiness, UC Berkeley sophomore Dani Coze announced her independent candidacy for ASUC Senate.

The Cooperative Reuse pilot program, which aimed to eliminate illegal dumping during the student move-out process at the end of the spring 2018 semester, will be repeated this year, starting May 18.

It has been more than a week since members of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, or Fiji, jokingly posed in front of sexual assault protesters, and the community is still awaiting a response from the campus Interfraternity Council, or IFC.

The commission plans to meet with the presidents and lead advisers of the UC Berkeley Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council next week to discuss future action.

Several student protesters assembled outside Phi Gamma Delta, or Fiji, fraternity Saturday afternoon to protest sexual assault. But they were interrupted by members of the fraternity, who began posing behind the protesters in what many alleged was a mockery of the rally.

Campus groups and city officials have collaborated to streamline the end-of-semester move-out process, according to city manager assistant Erin Steffen.

More than a week after allegations of drugging and sexual assault at Sigma Chi fraternity became public, not much has changed other than a few lackluster apologies and hollow statements of support for women.

In light of recent sexual misconduct allegations against Sigma Chi, the UC Berkeley Panhellenic Council, or PHC, announced in a statement released Feb. 26, that it will abstain from participating in an annual philanthropic event sponsored by Sigma Chi.
