After ending the season on a high note the Bears fall 0-1 to the Broncos during the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Following a consistent theme throughout the season, the Bears played well against high quality opponent Stanford, but were unable to close the door on a win.

After dominating the past two swim meets, the Bears finally found a team that matches their competitive edge. This past weekend, No. 6 Cal raced against No 1. Virginia in a meet indicative of the competition to come later this season.

On Sept. 16, Cal lost its focus in extra time against UCI. Three days later, under the backdrop of a crisp Southern California sunset, the Bears rained on the Beach.

Despite being held scoreless for more than 83 minutes, the No. 20 ranked Bears shut out the Portland Pilots, 2-0.

The Bears will finish off their season with Senior Day against rival Stanford this Friday at Witter Rugby Field. The blue and gold will be desperate to make a comeback and send their veteran players off with a big win over their rivals.

This “California Clash” begins Friday against the highly-ranked Bruins. UCLA has scored a stunning 26 goals and leads the conference in save percentage.

Arizona State comes hot off a 2-1 victory against UCLA, and Arizona is a formidable, offensively-minded opponent that plays best in the attacking third.

The Bears, who are coming off a win against Stanford, are looking to improve their record and come out victorious against Oregon and Oregon State.

Should the Bears emerge victorious in their next slate of matchups, they’ll cement themselves as one of the best teams in the Pac-12.
