After a slow start, Cal picked up the pace and took down UCSD and FAMU to finish up non-conference games. With Stanford on the horizon, are the Bears prepared for Pac-12 play?

With conference play on the horizon, Cal looks to finish up on a high note against UC San Diego and Florida A&M. With both these opponents only having won two games thus far, the ball seems to be in the Bears’ court.

The Raising the B.A.R. Invitational provided action on and off the court, exhibiting exciting matchups and highlighting Black female coaches. See the important events that occurred and who made the All-Invitational Team for their performances.

Even though Cal is competing against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and SMU, the programs join forces in advocating for Black female coaches and the progress toward equal representation.

Despite trailing by 8 at one point in the first half, the Bears stayed within striking distance in the final two quarters. Leilani McIntosh’s great offensive performance rallied the troops, leading the pack to a comeback victory.

Cal travels to compete against Saint Mary’s in hopes of continuing its solid performances and starting a win streak. Both teams are 2-1 on the season, but the Bears have the upper edge based on their performance on the season thus far.

After a slow start, the Bears found the NOS to accelerate their offense. Leilani McIntosh and Evelien Lutje Schipholt led the charge, both scoring double digits while shooting accurately from the field.

While the depth of Colorado was ultimately too much for Cal to overcome, the Bears looked to have turned a corner tonight, and if they continue to improve, their first win of the season should not be far away.

While the rocky mountain road trip against an experienced Colorado team will certainly be a tough task, if everything goes right, Cal could be competitive and maybe even enter the win column for the first time this year.

Cal concludes its nonconference slate winless, losing three close games at home to mid-major foes. The blue and gold’s search for their first win will only get harder from here.
