Night Safety Shuttle

The Night Safety Northside Line Shuttle is back in service and started Sunday night, according to UC Berkeley Parking and Transportation Services.

Bear Transit’s daytime central campus line, or C-Line, will close, and other routes will face detours because of construction on Wickson Bridge, which will begin Feb. 13 and continue “until further notice.”

The options are either going down the stairs or attempting to go down the steep hill that is Hearst Avenue — not a viable option for many students.

According to results from a 2014 University of California Undergraduate Experience Survey (UCUES), 77 percent of students walk to campus instead of biking, driving or riding public transit.

While our academic merit and unique achievements helped us get into UC Berkeley, now that we’re here, who are we to shy away from a little help?
