Alameda County Health Officer Nicholas Moss lifted the county's indoor mask mandate in a health officer order effective Saturday, citing declining COVID-19 cases.

The City of Berkeley announced today that beginning Dec. 30, masks will be required in all indoor public settings, regardless of vaccination status. 

COVID-19 cases surged at Santa Rita Jail, according to Sgt. Ray Kelly, a spokesperson for the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office.
