Four referendums are on the ballot for the 2017 ASUC election.

The ASUC Senate passed nine resolutions at their weekly Wednesday meeting, including the Promoting Empowerment of Personnel Leadership & Excellence, or P.E.O.P.L.E., Act, and four referendums for the April election ballot.

The ASUC Senate reconvened for its first regular Wednesday meeting of the semester after passing a resolution over winter break that will permit loans for student organizations, and senators also updated each other about the coming semester.

ASUC executive and senate hopefuls, accompanied by hundreds of supporters, flooded the Arthur Andersen Auditorium in the Haas School of Business on Friday evening to learn the results of the 2016-17 ASUC elections.

In a reversal from last year’s results, Student Action swept all four partisan executive positions in the 2016 ASUC elections, announced at Friday’s tabulation ceremony.

On Tuesday evening, Student Action — a party traditionally known to represent the Greek, engineering and Jewish communities — announced 16 senate candidates for the upcoming ASUC elections.

Several dozen UC Berkeley students have reported illnesses spreading with symptoms similar to those of norovirus, a viral gastrointestinal infection that is also commonly referred to as the “winter vomiting bug” or stomach flu.

At an ASUC Elections Council meeting Friday, members of the council discussed complaints brought against two Student Action executive candidates running in the upcoming election.
