I am instantly reminded of what unites my Latine family, and I become hungry at the thought of food. Beyond its tastiness and incredible seasoning — which I will soon obsess over — Latine food symbolizes cultural harmony and solidarity.

Although this dish has taken on various adaptations throughout different cultures, arroz con leche makes me feel connected to my Mexican culture.

Mexican food’s only quality shouldn’t be “cheap,” and it shouldn’t be dismissed as a cuisine deserving of little respect or admiration.
