One of my favorite things about Berkeley as a college town is that there are so many places open around or past midnight.

The smell of freshly cooked falafel wafts from beneath an inviting green awning, beckoning passers-by on Durant Street to eat at D’yar Mediterranean Cuisine — The Daily Californian’s 2022 pick for best Mediterranean food.

Berkeley is brimming with tons of sugary shops for you to satisfy all of your sweet tooth cravings. The sheer number of such places is quite intimidating and it can be difficult to determine which are actually worth visiting. To make the decision a little sweeter for you, here are some places that will fulfill every single one of your sugary desires.

From the bottom of our tart, we hope that you try some of these places out (if you haven’t already)! With luck, some of these dessert shops will strike you as “mint to be." If not, donut worry, just know we’ll never dessert you.

Founded by campus juniors Ali Farzad and Garrett Barnett, the nonprofit student group’s goal is to take the extra medical supplies from hospitals in the United States and give the supplies to countries that lack those resources.
