I stroll through the red gliding doors, preparing for an adventure. The buttery scent of freshly-popped kernels strikes my nostrils immediately; the aggressive whirring creation of a Starbucks Frappuccino wallops my eardrums and the forefront of value items in Bullseye's Playground lures me. 

“What if” questions constantly plague our minds, maybe even on a daily basis. Overthinking and sometimes even regretting decisions we have or have not made is so incredibly easy—especially at times when we are extra vulnerable and are faced with adversity. 

As cliche as it may seem, the journey through life is comparable to solving a Rubik’s Cube.

For most of my life, I have lived by the principle: “Do what you want and regret it later.” Yet somewhere along the way, the past few months of intense self-reflection and agonizing introspection have left me paralyzed with fear and suspended in time. Rather than set resolutions for the new year, I prefer to air out my grievances, but also recognize the things I don’t regret.  Hence, I present to you my five regrets and my five nonregrets from 2022 — lessons we could all benefit from.

There’s so much good and bad to unpack, but I won’t bore you with the particulars. Even though I felt like I was being thrown back and forth a lot, I managed to make it through all right – and I’ve learned some valuable lessons along the way.

As an enthusiast for coming-of-age movies, I was guided through my teenage years by the films under this niche genre as they prepared me for adulthood by illustrating the journey of characters who were at the same stage of life as me. Whether the movie is funny, sad or romantic, I believe there's something to be learnt from each of them.

Most of us can’t help but long for the day when the world will be free of COVID-19. But when that day comes, how will we adjust our lives to make sure nothing affects us this severely in the future?
