Berkeley Unified School District, or BUSD’s, Board of Education officially kicked off Black History Month at their meeting Wednesday.

More than a week after the 2022 midterm elections, the Alameda County Registrar's Office has finalized the counting of ballots with the election results for both Alameda County and the city of Berkeley being released Friday. 

Current board president Ka’Dijah Brown leads with 27.52% of the vote as of press time. Meanwhile, Jennifer Shanoski captured 21.9% of the vote with Mike Chang and Reichi Lee close behind at 21.73% and 21.16%, respectively.

Each selected candidate has been chosen for their commitment to the city and their constituents, as well as their responses to interviews with the editorial board

Election coverage has become almost synonymous with showcasing the latest poll. During an election, national media outlets are overrun with polls showing which candidate is ahead and what topics people are most concerned about.
