No. 1 Cal crushed No. 7 Central Washington 48-19 Friday evening in a match that never felt particularly competitive, remaining undefeated this season.

Cal (13-1, 3-0 Pac-12) had not lost any energy as it played its penultimate conference match during Homecoming weekend, thrashing Utah 118-0 in a Saturday afternoon matchup for Cal’s eighth shutout this season, and the team has still not allowed a point in conference play.

Both teams scored four tries in the match, but similarly to the teams’ last two matchups in Berkeley, both close victories for Cal, conversions and goal kicks were the deciding factors in victory.

Cal lost some important pieces such as No. 8 Thomas Robles and prop Kevin Sullivan, but head coach Jack Clark will have enough talent to put in his system and experience to work on the field for a successful run.
