Weaver, Wilcox and safety Jaylinn Hawkins personally campaigned on social media as well as on campus to get a student body that had lost its passion to care about the tradition of Cal football again.

While Cal’s pass protection was quite stout last weekend, the run blocking saw one of its worst performances of the young season.

After today, maybe Chase Garbers  — who overcame an injury and a big first-half interception — can enter the opening stretch of Pac-12 play with newfound confidence

Cal is 4-0 for the first time since 2015, and with Utah losing to USC last night, the No. 23 Bears are set to move up the rankings.

For a moment there, Cal really did look like a team that had just defeated then-No.14 Washington, then they started playing like the Bears of the 2018 Cheez-it Bowl.

Although Cal played a closer game than they would have liked, the Bears are undefeated this season.
