UC Berkeley School of Public Health collaborated with other universities to publish a new study highlighting the brief but significant drop in online anti-Black sentiment following the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery in 2020. 

A team of UC Berkeley researchers found that when media outlets describe COVID-19 with terms such as “China virus,” they can increase implicit biases.

In an academic commentary published July, UC Berkeley School of Public Health researchers asserted that the coronavirus pandemic has disproportionately infected and killed residents of disadvantaged and racially segregated neighborhoods.
