From previously serving as the dean of UC Irvine School of Law and holding appointments at the law schools of Duke University, the University of Southern California and DePaul University, to penning influential articles and books on the principles of freedom of speech, Chemerinsky is a leading voice.

The Berkeley College Republicans, in collaboration with Young America’s Foundation, has invited conservative author and columnist Ben Shapiro to speak on campus September 14.

Since controversial conservative speaker Milo Yiannopoulos’ visit to campus Feb. 1 and the violent protests that led to the event’s cancellation, various misconceptions have circulated around the campus administration’s ability to cancel the event and the role of students in the protests.

The Berkeley College Republicans will host conservative journalist and Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos, who has emerged as one of the more divisive voices from the political milieu, for a talk on campus Feb. 1.
