After serving the city of Berkeley since May 2019, deputy city manager David White will join Santa Monica's executive team as its next city manager beginning Oct. 11.

The Berkeley City Council Budget and Finance Committee met Tuesday to discuss the city’s budget on issues ranging from Measure P to climate equity.

During Tuesday’s Berkeley City Council meeting, city deputy manager David White presented his office’s budget recommendations for fiscal year 2022. In the report, White said the city should allocate $8 million to expand its Specialized Care Unit, or SCU.
