The campus PATH to Care Center, in a partnership with the Violence Prevention Collaborative, will be awarding 10 grants of up to $2,500 to teams of four to 12 people to create campaigns addressing social norms on sexual violence. Projects will address an “intact community,” which could include members of a sports team, participants in Greek life or, in broader terms, groups such as the queer community or a cultural group, according to Elizabeth Wilmerding, a prevention intern at PATH.

After several incidents of shootings, clown sightings and alleged sexual violence, the Panhellenic Council and the Inter-Fraternity Council have decided to suspend on-site social events for UC Berkeley fraternities and sororities.

The Alameda County Defense Attorney’s office dropped the charges Friday against a member of Phi Gamma Delta one day after he was arrested in conjunction with a sexual assault investigation, according to a statement from the UC Berkeley chapter of Phi Gamma Delta.

Beta Theta Pi is reinstating its UC Berkeley chapter after its closure in fall 2013 because of “hazing and alcohol-related incidents” and other violations of fraternity agreements.

Paul Ghysels, who is in his 60s, formerly lived in a home sandwiched between two fraternities and is pursuing a lawsuit against the campus’s Interfraternity Council, or IFC — as well as individuals, organizations and property owners associated with 35 campus fraternities.
