In a sunny Berkeley debut, Headon and Templeman thawed the icy night air.

Fan-favorite Australian rock band Ocean Alley took the stage at Cornerstone Craft Beer & Live Music only one week out from the release of its fourth album — the psychedelic-meets-surfer Low Altitude Living. 

Tenenbaum and Lewin delivered a performance that lived-up to the quality of their musical recordings, even if it didn’t quite have a range to match. 

Young and Berul may have moved on from singing “Crazy Rap” harmonies at work, but they’re still bringing a fun approach to their passion for music.

Pretty much everyone in the band’s current lineup comes from a pop-punk background, and they put in special effort to fill their sets with constant movement.

Various older members of Parliament-Funkadelic proved that they’ve still got it by playing extensive solos with a saxophone and guitar, keeping the audience in a trance the entire time.

“The past three years, it really was just hustle,” band member and UC Berkeley student Theo Fedronic said in an interview with The Daily Californian.

This energy transferred into the audience as the halcyon crowd jumped around, aggressively pointing fingers up at the boys of Hot Mulligan.

The four-piece lined up in a straight row at the front of the stage, setting themselves as close to the audience as possible without falling off their platform.

The crowd was smaller than the usual show at Cornerstone, but the enthusiasm of the audience filled the space just as much as a sold-out concert would have. Welles gave a laid-back, musically solid performance ultimately worthy of a packed venue.
