I’m thinking of when you sat on a white blanket with grass peeking through the threads, and you wore a white dress for our special occasion: a conversation.

Progress isn’t made without constructive conversation, and in recent years, that has been lacking in the UC Berkeley community.

You’re stuck — you already walked in and exchanged the head nod and tight-lipped smile with the tooth-brushers. It’s too late to back away. So what do you do now? 

I took a deep breath to prepare to talk to someone new. What followed was the most interesting and mind-blowing conversation I have had all year. 

Not only does the blood escaping your body reek, but so does the stench of injustice. Why can’t we talk about our periods in an open and honest fashion?

Just because the start of the school year is going to be more different than anything we’ve ever experienced, we can still enjoy these last weeks of summer!

We’ve both had times when a car ride has been a catalyst for connection or an important milestone in a relationship.

“If we’re both here and we both like each other, why can’t we figure out what we could be?”
