Behind the many booths lining Sproul Plaza is one with many flowers, a few succulents and one smiling man — Zafar Honarmand, the owner of a 34-year-old flower stand that was previously stationed at 2588 Bancroft Way.

I feel that this feeling is the byproduct of being suddenly on my own. Although not completely financially independent, I am still learning how to manage all this newfound freedom.

Enjoy these last precious moments of freedom before academics start dominating your life again and you gradually forget the simple pleasures of life.

The Bear’s Lair, located at 2495 Bancroft Way, will undergo a change in ownership according to a public notice posted May 26th.The Red Door Group will become the new owners of the space, the notice stated.

The ASUC Senate unanimously passed a resolution at its meeting Wednesday to temporarily move the bridges Multicultural Resource Center and the Queer Alliance Resource Center to the fourth floor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Student Union and provide them priority reservations on the fifth floor.

After demands earlier in the month that they be relocated from their current spaces in the Eshleman Hall basement, members of the Queer Alliance and Resource Center, or QARC, and bridges Multicultural Resource Center rejected three alternative location options offered by the ASUC Student Union Board at an emergency meeting held Thursday.

A protest on Monday at noon inside the Cal Student Store, organized by the Queer Alliance Resource Center, or QARC, and the bridges Multicultural Resource Center, took an unexpected turn when the store locked all of its entrances about 30 minutes into the protest.
