Blake Wentworth, a former assistant professor in the campus’s South and Southeast Asian Studies department, was dismissed today by Chancellor Dirks after Wentworth was found to have violated the University's Faculty Code of Conduct and Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Policy, according to a campus press release.

Attorneys presented arguments in court Tuesday regarding a petition to dismiss UC Berkeley professor Blake Wentworth’s defamation lawsuit against two campus graduate students who alleged he sexually harassed them.

Wentworth’s name was removed as of press time from any course instruction list for the spring 2017 semester on both CalCentral and the SSEAS website, where his name was formerly displayed as an instructor for an undergraduate course.

She accused Wentworth of sexual harassment — citing instances of inappropriate comments, physical contact and unprofessional behavior.

Two campus graduate students filed an official state complaint Monday to the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, or DFEH, against campus assistant professor Blake Wentworth and the UC Board of Regents.

As UC Berkeley grapples with a slew of sexual harassment scandals, recently released reports show that 19 UC Berkeley employees were found to have violated university sexual misconduct policy since 2011.
