Prudence L. Carter, E.H. and Mary E. Pardee professor and dean of the Graduate School of Education, or GSE, received the Berkeley Citation from Chancellor Carol Christ and Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost A. Paul Alivisatos.

A series of laptop robberies occurred in two buildings located on University of California property — the Energy Biosciences and the Berkeley Way West buildings — between about 11:16 a .m. and 12:16 p.m. Wednesday, according to a UCPD Nixle alert.

Berkeley Way West was built to house the three departments that were displaced — the UC Berkeley School of Public Health, the psychology department and the Graduate School of Education.

Tolman Hall, home to the Graduate School of Education and campus department of psychology, is set for demolition after being deemed seismically unfit.
