Amid tables sprawled with empty Red Bull energy drinks and the rhythmic tapping of computer keyboards, over 1,200 of the brightest collegiate minds were hard at work during a 36-hour artificial intelligence, or AI, hackathon held at UC Berkeley’s Martin Luther King Jr. Student Union building from June 17 to 18. 

Have you seen the cute, box-shaped, heart-eyed robots around campus? In addition to food delivery, the fleet of autonomous robots on wheels will begin offering fun interactive experiences such as bear statues tours and activities with prizes.

GlobeSisters, a new social startup launched through Berkeley Skydeck, is the creation of Pauline André, an avid traveler and Berkeley alum with a desire for safe solo traveling for women. 

On June 29, UC Berkeley announced the launch of the Life Sciences Entrepreneurship Center, or LSEC, making it the latest addition to the Innovation and Entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Berkeley SkyDeck selected 16 startups from a global applicant pool for its fall 2020 startup accelerator program, announced Oct. 29.

UC Berkeley is ranked first as a public university and second among all universities in the world in its production of entrepreneurs who raise venture capital, according to a ranking by PitchBook.

Berkeley SkyDeck held its annual Demo Day on Tuesday, an event where some of its fall program applicants present their technologies.

Berkeley SkyDeck, UC Berkeley’s business startup accelerator and incubator program, announced a partnership with Universal Music Group.

The co-founders of Wymbo, Haas School of Business student Raja Riahi and campus computer science alumnus Shawn Magee, are operating within Berkeley SkyDeck, a UC Berkeley startup accelerator and incubator program, to develop the app.

UC Berkeley was ranked No. 2 amongst the 50 undergraduate programs that produce the most venture capital-backed entrepreneurs, according to PitchBook’s 2017-18 report.
