Tigue demonstrated a deep understanding of the inner workings of the ASUC, and has positioned herself to be a driving force for transfer students. That being said, we are confident the transfer community will be in good hands this year.

We encourage the student body to read about the student leaders making decisions that will affect their experiences during their time at Berkeley, and in some cases beyond, as we follow the long road to April 2024 elections. 

With the exception of the Transfer Student Representative, no transfer students were elected to senate or executive positions in the spring 2023 ASUC election cycle.

The results fpr the 2023 ASUC Senate elections were announced at 6 p.m. Friday during a tabulation ceremony held in Dwinelle Hall. With remarkable turnout, 46 candidates competed for the 20 available senate seats, posing a significant challenge to all contenders. Of these, an overwhelming 32 ran as independents, while 10 ran with ElevateCal and four ran with the Progressives at Cal party. 

While the experience and qualifications that set Tigue up for success in this role are overwhelming, her lived experiences advocating for transfers at the community college and university level have given her the insight to understand both sides of the process.
