Freshman data science and economics major Richard You is running for ASUC Senate on the platforms of safety and improving the campus community.  

Working her way up from an ASUC menstrual equity intern to chief of staff for Senator Akash Ponna, junior Caitlyn Guntle is now taking aim at a seat on the ASUC Senate, hoping to advocate for the dance community, menstrual equity and SVSH protections.

Incumbent ASUC senator and sophomore majoring in political economy Akash Ponna is running for executive vice president independently on platforms of student wellness, revamping the ASUC, club support and equity and inclusion.

The results were announced Friday during the first in-person tabulations ceremony since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

While seeing dancing on campus was his invitation to join a group, the outdoor practices are a part of a greater challenge to campus’ dance community. At the start of the fall 2021 semester, the ASUC stopped covering the cost of dance studios in the Hearst Memorial Gymnasium, where groups would traditionally book rooms to practice, according to Ponna. 

The Student Action party announced two additional ASUC Senate candidates Thursday ahead of the upcoming ASUC elections.
