Berkeley fire and police units responded to a fire in a residential apartment building on Berkeley Way, according to an alert from BPD at 5:09 p.m. Monday.

On Wednesday about 8:25 a.m., members of the Berkeley Police Special Response Team arrested Berkeley resident Anthony McCurty, 37, in connection with a shooting that occurred last month near Burnett Street, according to a Nixle alert released Monday by BPD.
