Cal will face the Stanford Cardinal for the 126th Big Game, inching closer to the end of the Pac-12 era.

If the decision stands, Washington State and Oregon State would become the only two voting members of the Pac-12 board, taking sole authority of a wide variety of conference proceedings, such as revenue and scheduling. 

Cal suffered a 0-4 loss against undefeated Stanford on Friday, marking its most significant shutout loss of the season. The Bears’ final conference record is 4-3-4, with their overall of 7-6-6.

Cal head coach Mark Madsen announced on Wednesday that Jeremiah Wilkinson, a 6’1” guard from Georgia, signed with Cal for the 2024-25 season.

There is a whole lot that separates Cal and USC football. But, as the adversaries will enter the gridiron for Saturday’s contest in Berkeley, a recent parallel reigns between the two: Uphill battles have taken downhill tumbles.

After a 2-2 start to the season, the Bears are rallying together to set up for a second half of domination.

After a slow start, Cal’s offense and defense caught fire and made quick work of the Vandals, winning 31-17.

Although Cal’s defeat to Auburn stung, the Bears still have 10 games to make their last Pac-12 football season one to remember.

The restraining order will prevent the departing members from formal discussion until the future of conference ownership and governance is decided. Washington State and Oregon State are vying for complete Pac-12 ownership, while the 10 withdrawing universities are seeking to dissolve the conference and split assets equally.

This move will bring the ACC’s membership to 18 schools and will entirely rewrite each program’s expectations in scheduling, as well as media revenue in years to come.
