It seems as though the Daily Californian sacrificed the Ink Bowl in order for Cal to win the 125th Big Game.

After trailing most of the game, a blue and gold fourth quarter onslaught ensured a merry and bright Cal victory for the 125th anniversary of the Big Game.

For the first time in 14 years, Cal wins back-to-back games against Stanford. Led by their monstrous defense, the Bears mounted a 21-point comeback to seal their victory against the Cardinal.

There’s no one solution to increasing diversity in sports journalism, but the little things like encouragement and mentorship go a long way.

Young’s father, Fredd Young, is “definitely” his idol — because it’s the little things, like family (and snap decisions about whether or not to run the ball) that really make a football player special.

Both teams are wearily riding losing streaks in seasons that can be described as nothing more than perfect graveyards of buried hopes. Nevertheless, the blue and gold hold home court advantage this year and in a matchup like this one, that might mean everything.

In giving Cal the winning touchdown, the six men in black and white may or may not have flouted the rules. Without doubt, they had helped violate the conventions of orderly competition. They had validated chaos. Permitted pandemonium. OK’d the unthinkable.

Seventeen years later, I still believe in the blue and gold. Figured Big Game Week was as good a time as any to update you all on why.
