College Life

Let’s face it. Water bottles are so annoying. It doesn’t matter what type they are. Plastic ones eventually get stinky if you don’t wash them with vinegar or something. Glass ones are too fragile. Metal ones are too heavy and risky to bring into a lecture hall.

It’s every college student's favorite holiday, a day when day drinking and partying aren't looked down upon — and no, I’m not talking about Big Game or Cal Day, I’m talking about St. Patrick’s day!

If I’ve influenced you, my sincerest apologies to your bank account. I hope you enjoyed this list and let’s hope I have enough strength to make it to the end of this month before I buy anything.

Throughout the flurry of midterms and the hours dedicated to studying whizzing by to the drizzling rain that resembles many of our tears, the overall aura of Berkeley has been dimmed from what once was a golden yellow to a bleak gray.

This past month, I went to the dentist for the first time since the pandemic. Yes, I know that’s been a super long time. But, I hope others who hear my story might see that they aren’t alone and can get the courage to go to the dentist too. 

As cliche as it may seem, the journey through life is comparable to solving a Rubik’s Cube.

I wouldn’t be so naive to say that Yeoh completely transformed my Asian-American existence but like she did when I was younger, her success and confidence made me feel important and worthy.

I used to frown at the thought of going to the library too (still do when I have upcoming midterms), but hey! It’s not all that bad when you really try it out and I can see why our libraries are seemingly always so crowded. 

All these things are what make being a woman so beautiful to me. Not only to be remembered this month, but all year long. Happy Women’s Month to all my empowering, influential, benevolent women out there! 

I walked into the venue head-so-empty that my head could’ve been in the clouds, and I just existed—listening to Maggie Rogers’s angelic voice harmonizing not only with the music but the lovely aura she had created within.
