Berkeley truly is a very special place and I consider myself lucky to be able to take part in the beauty and campus culture here. I hope some of these activities inspire your college bucket list.

Sometimes it can be hard to find things to do in the Bay Area, however, I’ve got you covered with a variety of holiday events taking place around UC Berkeley, in San Francisco and in the Bay Area as a whole. 

If any of you are contemplating whether or not studying abroad would be a good idea, just know that you aren’t alone.

Housing options are known to be limited in Berkeley, and many students decide to jump the gun looking for the perfect place before they’re even halfway through their first semester. Others may wait until the very last minute and find themselves in a situation they wish they could get out of. No matter what category you fall into, I hope this guide helps you narrow down some of your options! 

My dream job has always been to become an author and now, at UC Berkeley, I’m studying English to hopefully one day get there. 

San Francisco is a major city — it has a ton of events, sight-seeing opportunities and a variety of diverse restaurants that are definitely worth visiting if you ever have the opportunity. As a college student on a budget, there are a lot of restaurants I want to try but I can’t due to money constraints; thus, we’ll be keeping this list budget friendly today.

Overall, I think UC Berkeley boasts a stunning campus with incredible buildings and architecture. I think the diverse architectural styles and iconic features truly make UC Berkeley different from any other UC and colleges in general. Although these are only a few of my top buildings, I think every hall on campus has its own distinctive features and beauty that makes it just as amazing to attend classes in.  

Overall, required reading is a huge part of college, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring or feel useless. I’ve actually grown to find peace in my required reading and maybe even some fun as well. With these tips, I hope you too will enjoy required reading a little more than you had initially.
