It’s rare to be able to look back on something without a single regret. But during my first day of classes of my senior year, I had an incredible realization: I have actually enjoyed every single course I’ve taken over my four years at Berkeley.

True horror is not in the possibility of demons or ghouls but instead resides in the canals and curves of our brains. True horror is the pain we feel, the emotions we attempt to process, and how we do so, all the while observing those around us — calculating their next move. 

Inspired by Italo Calvino’s “The Castle of Crossed Destinies,” seven of the Weekender’s staffers came together to write short pieces based on the same set of five tarot cards.

We can’t stop time and aging, and we can’t solve climate change in its entirety by ordering a veggie burger, though I wish we could.

Food holds an especially important part of my heart, thanks to my mom. I realize now how much it means to me when anyone gets me food.
