We at the Clog have taken it upon ourselves to educate you on how not to be an obnoxious UC Berkeley alum.

Although CNR students are usually defined in one category, we at the Clog are here to tell you that many flavors exist. 

I never thought I’d find myself backpacking around New Zealand, and I definitely never imagined hiking its forgotten third island.

Just like you, we at the Clog love Cal Day. Which is why this year we'll be totally sure to not miss it and definitely not do any of these things instead.

Although I’d been to Washington D.C. before, I always enjoy walking through the National Mall, even if it means weaving my way through crowds of tired families.

Don’t get us wrong, most days we truly appreciate the opportunities and inspiration you provide for us, but after these past 10, long and rainy weeks we can’t help but feel a little worn-out.

I hadn’t been rejected from UC Berkeley, but waitlisted. To anyone, this would seem like a hopeful situation — maybe there was still a chance for me to attend one of the best schools in the country.

Amid all of these responsibilities, it is important to escape even for just a weekend to places we haven’t explored before. So instead of exploring a new library on campus or trying out a new coffee shop, I decided to go to Santa Cruz in the hopes of relieving some stress and visiting a place I hadn’t been to in years.

Not many southwestern road-trippers take the time or even know to drive just a bit more southeast into New Mexico. By adding just a few more days to your road trip, you’ll encounter landscapes of rolling white sand dunes, deep caves that host underground ecosystems and vast canyons along the Texas border.
