For the Bears, this marked the end of their 2019 play. They might not have achieved all of their goals, but records were broken regardless.

The Pac-12 championships in Los Angeles start Thursday with the No. 3-seed Bears first slated to face the unranked Arizona State Sun Devils in an early afternoon matchup.

This Saturday, the No. 11 Cal beach volleyball team will be back at Stanford to face its last two opponents of the regular season before heading into the Pac-12 championships.

This performance made them the only pair that went 3-0 on the weekend, displaying their effectiveness for the team.

If the Bears hit hard from the start, they may be able to destabilize their opponent and take themselves one step closer to NCAA qualification.

The next day proved more successful for Cal as the team took on Washington in the early afternoon and No. 20 Stanford a couple of hours later.

This weekend, No. 19 Stanford will host the Pac-12 North Tournament, with No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 USC and Washington also in attendance.

Spring break for the Bears ended on a more emotional note with their Senior Day competition against San Jose State on Friday.

On Saturday, Cal will host No. 18 Saint Mary’s for the first time this season and meet UC Davis once again at the Clark Kerr Sand Courts.

No. 11 Cal beach volleyball had a lot riding on its matchup against No. 6 Hawaii: the potential to increase its national ranking to heights the team has never seen before and an improvement of the team’s odds of getting into the NCAA Tournament at the end of the season — two of its ultimate goals.
