Sometimes it can be hard to find things to do in the Bay Area, however, I’ve got you covered with a variety of holiday events taking place around UC Berkeley, in San Francisco and in the Bay Area as a whole.
A Christmas Carol
If you haven’t already checked out an SF ACT performance, definitely check out “A Christmas Carol.” This theater offers $25 ticket options to plays that are great quality and exceedingly fun. I’ve been to several plays in the past and have consistently been blown away by their level of talent and professionalism. The fact that this play is Christmas-themed also makes it all the more fun, soI’d highly recommend going to “A Christmas Carol” in San Francisco this holiday season.
Union Square
If you’ve never been to Union Square around Christmas time, you’re missing out. Every holiday season, the entire square gets dazzled with an ice rink, holiday decorations and of course, Christmas spirit everywhere you turn. The Macy’s at Union Square even has adoptable puppies and kittens! Definitely take a trip to San Francisco sometime this December to soak up all of the jolly spirit.
Attend a tree-lighting ceremony
There are several places throughout San Francisco and other neighboring Bay Area towns that host tree-lighting ceremonies. This is a great way to feel a sense of community and do something fun to celebrate the arrival of the holiday season. I love tree-lighting ceremonies and I’m sure you will too if you check one out this holiday season.
Embarcadero Building Lighting Ceremony & Carnival
Every year Embarcadero in San Francisco hosts a building lighting ceremony and a winter carnival that I would highly recommend checking out. This event is another way to feel the Christmas spirit and find a variety of activities such as crafts, carnival games, delicious food and beautiful lights.
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
Around Christmas time, Santa Cruz usually decorates their beach boardwalk with incredible Christmas decorations. There is something so special about experiencing this amazing holiday on the beach and there is no better place to do it than in Santa Cruz. Although the weather might be chilly, the games will be fun, and the spirit will be high. If you have the means to get to Santa Cruz, I would definitely recommend checking out this holiday-themed location!
Even if you’re not a huge fan of Christmas and the holidays, I would highly recommend checking out any of these amazing activities and locations. Make sure to bring some friends and family with you as they will definitely brighten your holiday season. Have the best time and enjoy whatever you celebrate!
