An unidentified female adult was found dead Tuesday in a tent at People’s Park, according to UC Berkeley spokesperson Dan Mogulof.

Mogulof said UCPD is still investigating the matter. UCPD has not responded to request for comment as of press time. 

Lisa Teague, a harm reduction advocate for the park, said the individual was found when campus social worker Ari Neulight conducted a wellness check due to dangerous weather conditions. 

A campus WarnMe notification was issued earlier in the day for “severe wind and rain,” however it is not clear at this time if the death is weather-related. The Alameda County Coroner’s Office has been notified, yet has no more information as of press time.
