Three aggravated assaults occurred Wednesday, according to a series of campus WarnMe alerts sent throughout the same day.

The first aggravated assault WarnMe was sent out at 1:21 a.m. The victim of the assault and their friend were yelled and cursed at by an unknown male at 2650 Haste Street. The male then kicked the victim before the victim and the friend ran away, according to the WarnMe.

A second, separate incident occurred at 1:49 a.m. in Wheeler Hall, as stated in another WarnMe sent out at 2:53 a.m. The victim and their friends were assaulted by the suspect, who according to the WarnMe appeared to be intoxicated, accompanied by another male person. The victim was knocked to the ground before the suspect and the other male left the area.

The last assault, reported in a WarnMe sent out at 12:53 p.m., occurred at Unit 2 at 11:40 a.m. The suspect, an unidentified male, walked through the dormitories and grabbed a female student’s arm. According to the alert, the student managed to break free and is safe. The suspect was described as a white, heavily built male around 50 years old, wearing a blue raincoat.

On April 11, UCPD arrested the suspect, according to UCPD spokesperson Capt. Sabrina Reich. UCPD is currently investigating “multiple criminal cases” related to the suspect.

“UCPD will present evidence to the Alameda County District Attorney’s office for charging consideration,” Reich said in an email.
