A designer’s eye is something only some are bestowed with and in a world where words only mean so much and letters only go so far, visuals and designs and illustrations truly make everything that much more meaningful. Without designers, our paper would just be a bunch of words on a page — and no matter how entertaining the writer or how persuasive the prose — a bunch of black and white is not as tempting to be read all over.
In 2022, our designers brought life to the words that would have otherwise been unaccompanied and alone, they gave color to a characteristically colorless piece of paper and they made The Daily Californian a paper one was excited to pick up.
Certainly, during a time where a book is definitely judged by its cover, we are so glad that our designers make our covers something to be marveled at.
