With school starting up soon, you’re probably planning out your schedule and moving into a new place. It can be difficult to find the supplies you need around campus, though, especially for those who are still new to the Berkeley area. The UPS Store

Although this may not usually be the first place you think of when it comes to getting moving supplies, Berkeley actually has two locations close to campus — one on Telegraph Avenue and the other on Shattuck Avenue. It may be a tad pricey, but UPS has one of the biggest selections when it comes to moving supplies on this list! They have a wide variety of box sizes, which makes it perfect for those who are just doing a small move-out of a dorm. They also offer a ton of other services like shredding personal documents, printing for small businesses and shipping! 

Postal Annex+

Postal Annex+ is located right next to Unit 3 on Durant Avenue. It’s definitely a great place to quickly get the moving supplies you need! They have padded envelopes, a variety of different boxes and mailing tubes. In addition, they offer shipping services and can compare UPS shipping rates, FedEx shipping rates and USPS shipping rates to make sure you get the best deal. If you need to ship something back home during the moving process, this is just the place for you! 

U-Haul

Located a little bit farther from campus on 6th Street, the U-Haul store is a great place to get some large moving boxes for a cheaper price than most stores close to campus. If you are moving bigger furniture, we definitely recommend getting a U-Haul truck, which is basically a rental van that has a ton of open space in the back to fit your couch, fridge and TV. Since you can rent some of the larger U-Haul trucks at this main location on 6th street, it is the best option for those who are doing a larger move! 

United States Postal Service 

Although a little bit unconventional, the United States Postal Service located on Durant Avenue has shipping boxes that could double as moving boxes. Their boxes are also offered at a way lower price than other stores on this list, so they get some points on our end! Better yet, this location provides other moving essentials like packing tape and bubble wrap which is an added plus! While you are at it, you can even send off some letters or packages to your loved ones to celebrate your move! 

Office Depot

Located on 10th street and Gilman, Office Depot has some moving essentials like shipping boxes and Sharpies. They also have a ton of school supplies which you may need for this new semester. If you’re hunting for a quick way to get what you need, they even have free in-store pickup in under 20 minutes through their website!
