A hate crime was reported at Golden Bear Cafe at 12:25 p.m., according to a UC Berkeley WarnMe notification.

According to the campuswide alert, a suspect fled the scene after a reported “battery via push.” The alert described the suspect as a male in their late ’20s to 30, “thin build,” and wearing a navy blue crew neck shirt and black jeans with a black baseball cap.

“UCPD recognizes and places a high priority on the rights of all individuals guaranteed under state and federal law,” the notification reads. “The commission of a hate crime is a serious offense, which will not be tolerated.”
